How to ensure the Roof box fits your sedan or SUV
A car with roof box is a great way to expand storage space. Roof boxes come in a variety of sizes and shapes. Understanding the differences between them will help you find the perfect style for your needs—whether you're planning an active vacation or simply adding space and convenience for everyday life. With modern installation systems, finding the right roof box for your specific vehicle is easier than ever.

Choosing the Right BIUWILD Roof Box
BIUWILD offers a wide range of roof box sizes to suit different lifestyles and storage needs. While the abundance of choices is an advantage, it can also be difficult to determine which one is best for you.
Roof Box Size Guide
- Flex: Small roof box, suitable for everyday use, can hold luggage bags, small camping gear, or miscellaneous items, with a length between 120cm-145cm (≈47in - 57in).
- Axis: The preferred choice for active families, with a larger internal capacity, generally 172cm-202cm in length (approximately 68in - 80in), can accommodate larger outdoor gear, camping equipment, or skis, meeting the needs of multi-day trips. erfect for a compact luggage box for SUV.
- Trek: A large-capacity roof box, typically 188cm - 224cm in length (approximately 74in - 88in), perfect for gatherings with friends or adventurous families. It can hold large luggage and sports equipment, making it ideal for long trips and outdoor adventures.
When purchasing, you can choose the appropriate roof box based on your needs and usage scenarios.
For example, low-profile roof boxes have smoother lines, which not only reduce the overall height of the vehicle but also make it easier to pass through areas with low clearance.
Roof boxes designed specifically for skis are ideal for winter outdoor sports, providing safe and secure storage for long equipment.

Roof Measurement Guide
Before installing the rooftop cargo carrier, you need to consider the clearance in the trunk, i.e., whether the trunk can be fully opened after the roof box is installed.
How to Measure the Width
- Fully open the trunk lid, ensuring the maximum opening angle.
- Measure the distance from the center of the roof rack at the front of the vehicle to the point where the roof contacts the open trunk lid.
- Please refer to the product manual to confirm that this distance meets the minimum opening requirements.
- If your vehicle has a sunroof, ensure the roof box will not interfere with its normal opening before installation.
- Bar spread: If your vehicle doesn't yet have a roof rack, you can estimate the front crossbar position using the B-pillar location. Most roof rack systems place the front crossbar near the top of the B-pillar. Then measure the distance to the trunk opening.
How to properly place the Roof box
Avoid sagging: The cargo box should be centered on the roof rack, maintaining a balanced front-to-back position. Do not allow the cargo box to extend excessively forward or backward, as this will obstruct the driver's view. Excessive sagging will also put unnecessary stress on the rack, increasing wind resistance and fuel consumption. Avoid obstructing antennas or sensors.
Hatch interference: Before installation, ensure the cargo box will not obstruct the normal opening of the trunk door. If the cargo box is too long or improperly positioned, the trunk may not be able to open fully, affecting the daily use of the cargo box or the vehicle. Find the optimal position back but without obstructing the trunk; this will not only not affect usability but also concentrate weight on a stable support point.
Balance and Stability: Ensure the cargo box and roof rack are securely fastened during installation and installed in a straight line forward, avoiding lateral shifting.

Roof Box Usage Guide
After installation, proper operation not only improves safety but also ensures your BIUWILD cargo box remains in good condition for a long time.
Height and Environment Considerations: The overall vehicle height increases after installing the cargo box. Exercise caution when entering underground garages or low-ceilinged passageways.
Load-Bearing Safety: Each vehicle's roof rack has a maximum load limit. Please consult your vehicle's manual beforehand to avoid overloading.
Driving Precautions: Be aware of wind resistance and noise at high speeds. Reduce speed and maintain stability during strong winds or sharp turns.
Luggage Loading: Follow the principle of placing 50% of the weight between the crossbars, with 25% in the front and 25% in the back. Use the built-in straps to secure items and prevent luggage from sliding and impacting the cargo box during sudden braking.
Eco-Friendly Travel: Even with an excellent streamlined design, the cargo box will still generate some wind resistance. It is recommended to remove the cargo box for daily commutes when it is not needed. This can save you about 10% on fuel consumption.
